Back to the ranch

So we're headed back to the ranch this weekend.

This is a big family get-together for the Daharshes. I get along really well with my relatives on the ranch, and with my folks and most of my aunts and uncles, but there are times when family tension seems to run fairly high. I'm hoping to avoid that this trip if possible.

This will be Nancy and the kids' first trip to the ranch. I suspect that the kids will love it: cows, horses, cats and dogs, and the ranch in general. We were going to camp, but Howard and Jill offered to let us stay with them, so we will probably do that. I know Nancy will appreciate staying in a bed.

I went to Randy and Rhonda's house last night to get my introduction to bow hunting. Randy showed me how to shoot a compound bow, and I did reasonably well, all things considered. I'll try and make it back out there regularly to get in shape to shoot better and to improve my aim. I have shoulder problems, so hopefully that won't interfere with me shooting.

I am planning on bowhunting in Nebraska with Randy on some leased land this fall. The one complication could be that our baby is due October 16, and the bowhunting season in Nebraska goes from Sept 15-Nov. 11 and Nov. 21-Dec. 31. So hopefully I will shoot a deer before our baby comes.

You are a disturbing friend :)
What's with bow hunting - isn't it less likely to kill the animal and therefore prolong it's pain?
Sorry to ask dumb ?'s and not comment on the rest of the content :)
But I bet the kids will love the rach and all it brings...

John, I know it's somewhat unrelated to this post . . but what a great painting you have birthed my friend! I hope to see more where that came from! Props to you as well - I don't think gazing on the body of a nude woman would do my work with Jesus much good! ;-)> I'll stick with landscapes for the time being . . lol.

Alright... that is hilarious! I have a seriously hard time believing those people are serious!
I like the every day for 6 months thing... Maybe it could have a poison on it --> like in the movies :) where they drop over dead within about 10 seconds...? (except of course it would be non-lethal for humans so you could cook those suckers up for dinner.) I sure am full of good ideas, huh?
