Dreamers of the Day

since shane tucker is one of those m.i.a. for now, i thought i'd (isaiah) speak for him until the blogger bug hits him. during the summer of 1998, dana, shane, and i were introduced to the world that is student impact. we were the 3 newbies of the intern program. while dana jumped head first into living with and getting to know the other girls of the program, shane and i shared some common times of basketball, small group, chess, camping, and some good heartfelt conversation.

among other qualities, shane is a thinker, a dreamer. someone who has a hunger and thirst to learn and think big. if you spent any kind of time with shane and his awesome wife christy, you would know very quickly that the tuckers had a vision for ireland. shane's dream for a retreat center prompted his appropriately titled email address:
dreamingbig@hotmail.com. and at the end of the first year when some of us talked about the "ADL" positions at impact, shane accepted an offer to move across the pond to work with the Church of Ireland Youth Department.

since then, shane and christy have been faithfully serving in ireland. they have a beautiful daughter, neve, (which I regretfully lost her picture) besides his family, shane's dream has become a reality. shane is very involved with
Dreamers of the Day, a network of leaders who strive to create space for reflection, while equipping individuals with skills and resources, empowering them to set their lives on a path that is personally fulfilling and challenging to others. the Creation Centre strives to create an environment that encourages and facilitates a more meaningful life.

until shane shows his face around here, you can track shane down at:

Wow! Isaiah, I am humbled by your generous description of me and of what I"m doing. You make my life sound so good bro! ;-) Actually, the blogger bug has hit me and apart from the Dreamers site, I have started a blog as linked to the right. I admit, it's a weak attempt, but I do hope to develop it in the days ahead. Anyway, thanks again Isaiah, for your friendship and for filling in for me on the intern blog! I'm sure those Wisconsin mosquitoes do miss the feast we gave them on our trip! Say hello to your family. Blessings!

while you're life is blessed, i don't mean to "glamorize" (for lack of a better word) your life or make it sound like it's "so good", because i know that it can be hard work and probably a tad lonely being away from the motherland. i just think that you've taken huge steps of faith to honestly follow where you felt God was leading you. i respect that obedience in you. i just felt like it was important to let people know what you were up to and if you happened to be silent, it's because you have your hands full with other priorities. good to hear from you. i'm glad the bug hit you, but have your antibiotics ready so that you don't spend as much time on here as some of us do. blessings,
isaiah
