let's get together
As you likely read, we want to get together. I've tried to make something happen with as many of us as I can at least once a year, so this is perfect.
Suggestion has been made to have this in Colorado sometime this year. I think for me it will need to be later in the summer -- July or August.
Let me know how, when, what you all want to do.
Ideas I have off the top of my head:
- Stay at my cousins' ranch (it's actually in Nebraska, but it is in the sandhills and is gorgeous, I'd have to ask and we'd probably be roughing it)
- Go camping in the mountains (real camping, no wussy showers or asphalt or "keep you mountain lion on a leash" laws)
- Stay at the "Casa del Daharsh" here in Fort Collins. We could have overflow sleeping quarters in the backyard in tents if necessary, but the house does have a fair amount of room.
- Stay at a camp or a retreat center in the Rockies (although many of these are already booked solid)
- Stay at the KOA outside of Steamboat Springs (cabins are relatively cheap, very basic, and we'd have to get quite a few if we all came) -- Steamboat is a good drive from my house, but Steamboat is beautiful -- and there are hot springs there!

Hell yeah... Let's get together. Not so much for concrete thoughts but... we'd love to do it. Have no idea what summer will look like except that I vote LATE July or August. Who knows... if it's in August we could already live there??? maybe, doubtfully, but maybe :)

nice thought john...thinking you should invite others to be able to contribute to this post. that way others can actually create their own posts. as far as a gathering, we could have it in indiana? what's out there, i'm not sure, but we'll be moving there sometime this summer. i think i forgot to tell everyone (well a few people know)

depending on school...august may be better. I am in class at the end of July begining of August. I could do colorado. I just did my taxes and it can definitely be budgeted!!!!
so i am once again an idiot! i am going to bosnia in july so there is no way i am going to be able to go to colorado and take off of work. but let me know what is happening and if there is anyway to try I will. perhaps i can just do a long weekend fri-mon....
What about planning a reunion in the land of Saints, Scholars and Artists?
